Original Linocut - Honeysuckle in an Old Glass Print
Inspired by the very old honeysuckle that grows in my garden and fills the patio with a heady scent om warm summer evenings. This print utilises the fact that wet-on-wet printing makes the ink bleed, which gives the stems a blurry in-the-water look. The old glass jar is one of my favourite jumble sale finds and it often comes out for large messy bunches of flowers from the garden.

Paper: 270gsm Bread & Butter printmaking paper

This is the 3rd and final edition of this print, forming a limited variable edition of 28 prints. Each print will is numbered and signed. Every print in this edition will be similar in design and colour but will have individual variations, such as the way the colours blend or the way the ink spreads on the paper.
I design and carve each layer into linoleum before inking the plates and hand printing them using Alma, my 130 year old cast iron manual book press. Among the pictures you will see pictures of the three big linoleum plates and the little petal stamps for the last layer.
